Who we are

Handrail AI is a trading name of Junxiong Li, sole trader. We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us at [email protected].

What we collect

When you use our contact form: your name, email address, organisation, the topic you choose and your message. When you email us: your email address, your name and what you write. When you visit the site: our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. The site keeps a note of the topic you pick in your browser's session storage so the contact form can pre-fill it. This stays in your browser and is not sent to us. We host our own fonts, so your browser does not contact Google when you visit.

Why we use your data

To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to people who contact us and running our business) and, where you ask for a proposal, steps taken at your request before a contract. We also use technical data to keep the site secure. We do not sell your data. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

Service providers who help us run the site and email, acting on our instructions: Cloudflare (website hosting and email forwarding), Resend (delivers your contact form message to our inbox) and Google (our email inbox). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they do so under safeguards that UK data protection law recognises. We may also share data where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after 12 months. If we work together, we keep records of the work and payments for 6 years after the end of the tax year in which the work took place, which covers our tax record-keeping duties, and then delete them.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it and, where it applies, to move it. Email [email protected]. We normally reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your data, please tell us first at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it, keep you updated, and tell you the outcome and how to take it further. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
